Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Where can I park?

Having a beach hut booked does not guarantee you a parking space. There are pay and display car parks on Victoria Esplanade, Willoughby Avenue and Seaview Avenue, but they can fill up very quickly, especially in the summer.

How do I find The Hut?

All the huts have numbers on them so you can check if you’re heading in the right direction to get to The Hut. It is located roughly half way between The Two Sugars Cafe and Seaview Cafe almost directly below the public toilets at the bottom of Empress Avenue

What happens when you book a beach hut?

When you book you will receive a booking confirmation email.

You will then get another email about a week before your booking with all the information you need.

Please check in your junk folder as it might be there. If you have any other questions please email me on Ty@thehutmerseaisland.co.uk

How do I get in The Hut?

Access to the hut is via a key safe. The key safe code will be included in the email that we send you in the days leading up to your booking. When you replace the keys at the end of the day, please be sure to scramble the keycode and close the shutter on the keysafe. The Hut is secured with two padlocked security bars. If you think you may have difficulty with opening the hut please let us know before you book so we can discuss further.

How many are allowed in the huts?

A maximum of 6 per hut including babies and dogs (including in and out of the hut.)

We reserve the right to ask you to leave if we find too many guests. Too many people in The Hut jeopardises my Licence with the council and I don’t want that to happen.

When are you open?

From April 1st to the end of October half term.  We put details of any short notice cancellations or special offers on Facebook.

How and when do I pay?

The website handles all the payments. Payments are required in full at the time of booking

The hut does not have electricity but does have a gas stove. Please remember not to leave the stove unattended when on and to turn the gas off at the bottle when you leave.

Are there beach toys?

I do provide some beach toys but please bring your own if you have favourites you want to use. There are also some playing cards and games in the huts.

Are the huts cleaned between guests?

Yes, I want you to have an amazing time at The Hut and try to have it looking perfect for you but please be aware that this relies on each guest treating it as they would their own place.

If you break or soil something please let us know so that I can try to sort it out for the next guests.

Should I tidy up before I leave?

The Hut should be left in a clean and tidy condition before you leave.  Please wash up, dry and put away, sweep the floor and remove all rubbish. Please make sure the gas is turned off at the cylinder as well as stove. Please padlock the window shutter if you have opened it

What is your Cancellation Policy?

If you want to guarantee the weather then please do not book a hut in advance! Wait until you are convinced that the weather will be as you want it to be and then check what’s available.  As much as I would love everyone to have a glorious, sunny day for their visit, this is not the reality of our British weather but the joy of a beach hut is that it provides enjoyment and shelter whatever the weather!  There is a canvas windbreak with clear plastic on the doors that can be closed when it is cold or wet for added protection.

Is there a Waiting List?

We do not have a waiting list for The Hut. Cancellations are posted on Facebook
